I have always been curious about the stories that exist beneath the surface: the lives, experiences, relationships, and moments that bring someone to where they are today.
My husband and I often joke that we like to turn over the stone: to look beyond what is immediately visible and wonder about the lives, experiences, relationships, and moments that shaped the person or scene in front of us.
These paintings begin with real people, places, and memories. They move between portraiture, landscape, and symbolic abstraction, using visible moments as entry points into more layered reflections on identity, inheritance, belonging, and emotional history.
The narratives that accompany them are an attempt to explore what lies beneath the surface: the unseen stories that shape who we become. A daughter becoming her own person, a son held within the memory of a homeland, a young performer suspended between effort and grace, a partnership moving through uncertainty, or a self-portrait shaped by the tension of growing up between cultures can each become more than a single image.
This site is a personal exhibition and archive. It is intended as a quiet place to view the paintings, read the reflections, and spend time with the themes that move through them: love, distance, resilience, ancestry, transformation, and the enduring mystery of another human life.
